Pircher Announces Fifth Annual Joint Venture Challenge for Law and Business Students of UCLA and UC Berkeley
Pircher, Nichols & Meeks has announced its fifth annual Joint Venture (JV) Challenge, which took place on Friday, February 10 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Monday, March 13 at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). The JV Challenge is a program designed to allow business and law students to work together in a competitive environment, solving joint venture issues that may be encountered after graduation for those who pursue a career in real estate law or business.
This year, the format of the JV Challenge shifted from a writing to a negotiation competition. Students from the law and business schools at each University were teamed up into pairs to negotiate particular issues based on hypothetical facts and letter of intent provisions. Coaching was provided beforehand by Pircher attorneys, and a team of distinguished industry judges evaluated each team’s performance. The events concluded with a reception, where winners were announced and awarded cash prizes.
