PNM Partner Gene Leone Moderates panel at Bisnow’s Office Leasing & Development Midwest Conference
On June 21, more than 200 people made it to Bisnow’s Office Leasing & Development Midwest conference at the Loews Chicago Hotel, amidst flash flood warnings in Chicago.
Nearly 30 speakers and moderators, all authorities in the office commercial real estate realm, addressed trends affecting office leasing and development and provided insights on a wide range of topics, including future investment outlooks, the current state of major development in Chicago and alternative ways to look at office buildings from an ownership standpoint.
Gene Leone (Partner – Pircher, Nichols & Meeks LLP) moderated the first panel of the day, titled “Office Investor Outlook: Catching Tomorrow’s Tailwinds. The panelists who took part in the discussion were Bill Rogalla, Principal at Zeller Realty Group; Tom D’Arcy, Senior Managing Director at Hines and Stephen Sotoloff, Senior Principal at Walton Street Capital.
Some “hot topics” discussed throughout the day included investor caution on the acquisition side, skyscraper construction as predictor of a downturn, super trophy assets dominating the suburban market and how owners and tenants are mitigating risks with their amenities.
