PNM Partner Michael Scheinberg moderates Bisnow’s Los Angeles Construction & Development conference
Michael Scheinberg (Partner – Pircher, Nichols & Meeks LLP) moderates Bisnow’s event titled, “Los Angeles Construction and Development: Lending Requirements, The Latest Design Trends, Entitlement Risks, Navigating Rising Construction Costs, Policy Reform & Regulations Development” on September 6 at The L.A. Grand Hotel Downtown.
The panel kicked-off with a breakfast and networking hour and continued with a panel titled, “Building Cities for the Future: The Evolution of L.A.’s Construction Landscape” and concluded with a panel titled “L.A.’s Most Influential Projects: Going from Entitlement to Ribbon Cutting & All Things In Between.”
With 36 cranes, Los Angeles was recently ranked as the second most visible construction city in the nation. (Seattle was first.) This is leading to record-breaking construction spending and leading to increased caution among construction lenders when approaching the underwriting of debt.
Panelists discussed the most prevalent concerns for the current climate of CRE construction in Los Angeles. Topics discussed included: how to navigate inflexible regulatory policies, the top things construction lenders look for from developers, how to keep up with rising construction costs, the latest design trends and how to mitigate construction risks.
