Phillip G. Nichols, one of the founding members of the firm, now Senior Counsel, focuses on commercial real estate joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions as well as other complex real estate-related matters. His experience also includes financings, workouts and commercial leasing.

The clients he has represented include: Blackstone Realty Advisors, Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C., GEM Investors, Inc., JMB Realty Corporation, Regent Properties, Starwood Capital Group, Urban Shopping Centers, Inc., Walton Street Capital and Westrust Financial.

Professional & Community Affiliations

He is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

From 2008 to 2017, Phil served as Co-Chair, along with Glenn Sonnenberg, of the USC Gould School of Law’s annual Real Estate Law and Business Forum.

He is an Adjunct Professor at the USC Gould School of Law, where he teaches courses, limited to 10 students each, on real estate joint ventures and on real estate purchase agreements for commercial real property.

Served in the United States Marine Corps, 1969 to 1971.
